Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Oscar
Leonardo DiCaprio won his first Oscar for his role in The Revenant on Sunday night.
His speech was more than his 45 seconds allotted time. Previously he was nominated for four times but didn’t won.
He said this during his speech, ‘Making The Revenant was about man’s relationship to the natural world…climate change is real. It is happening right now. It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters or the big corporations but for all people.’
‘Let us not take our planet for granted. I do not take tonight for granted.’
