Japan’s Princess Mako have postponed her engagement
Japan’s Princess Mako have postponed her engagement to commoner fiance Kei Komuro. They are not yet ready for marriage. The couple said in a statement on Tuesday, “It is because of our immaturity and we just regret it”.
“We feel extremely sorry for causing great trouble and further burden to those who have willingly supported us”.
Under the traditional Japanese law, Princess Mako will need to give up her royal status for marrying a commoner.
